Support that understands real life

TishAbility is for families who need practical support that understands real life. We know that support is not just about hours on paper. It is about the right people, the right planning, the right environment and the right approach.

We Take Time to Understand

We take time to understand the person, their routines, sensory needs, communication style, strengths, preferences and what matters most. We listen to family knowledge and support the person's own wishes, choices and self-determination. Our aim is to make support feel safer, clearer and more possible.

We help families access support that is practical, respectful and built around everyday life. We support people, families and support networks to move from written recommendations into practical, person-centred support that is realistic, safe, meaningful and linked to the person's life. Importantly, our work helps reduce isolation, build social connections, develop social capital, and create meaningful opportunities for participation, wellbeing and access to therapeutic activities led by appropriate professionals or providers—because connection matters as much as practical support.

Practical Help When Systems Feel Overwhelming

Families may need help organising information, preparing for reviews, understanding recommendations, completing forms, evidencing support needs, coordinating workers or making funding arrangements work in practice. Our aim is to help families feel clearer, supported and more able to move forward.

We support families with:

  • Community access and inclusion: Supporting the person to access clubs, activities, leisure opportunities, appointments, community spaces and wellbeing environments safely and meaningfully
  • Communication support: Support with communication strategies, AAC (Alternative & Augmentative Communication) and visual communication approaches in real environments
  • Life skills and everyday learning: Support with life skills in the environments where they actually happen—home routines, laundry, food preparation, shopping, communication, emotional regulation and community participation
  • Therapeutic, sensory and wellbeing support: Support for sensory regulation, wellbeing activities, therapeutic appointments and routines that promote confidence, participation and quality of life
  • Supported access and short breaks: Supported holidays, therapeutic short breaks and supported travel as part of meaningful, outcome-linked support

Coordination and Admin Support

We also help with the practical administration side of support:

  • SEND and EHCP support: Practical support around SEND processes, EHCP applications, annual reviews and education transitions
  • Direct Payments and budgets: Support managing Direct Payments, Personal Health Budgets and Education Budgets, including rotas, records and ready-for-audit administration
  • Forms and evidence: Practical support with paperwork, evidence organisation, form completion and signposting to specialist services
  • HR and workforce support: If you employ support workers, help with recruitment, onboarding, rotas, timesheets, payroll liaison and staff coordination
  • Practical coordination and signposting: Help connecting to services, understanding recommendations and coordinating support

Reducing Isolation, Building Connection

Connection and belonging matter.

Our work ensures access to social networks, builds social capital for individuals and families, and creates therapeutic opportunities. We believe that reducing isolation and enabling genuine participation in community life is as important as the practical support we provide. We help your family feel less alone, more connected and more able to participate in community life in ways that feel meaningful and achievable.
